Senior Massage Therapist
Touch Medicine is the creation of Melissa Wu.
From a very young age Melissa has been drawn to health and healing, having supported family members who have suffered from chronic illnesses like diabetes.
Melissa has made it her life’s passion to research and help people reduce discomfort and improve their quality of life. She is particularly interested in chronic illnesses, mental illnesses, cancer, and autoimmune diseases, as well as muscular disorders and sport related injuries.
Her therapy is focused on working with individuals to regain balance through a holistic approach. This focus has come from her collective life experience and studies as well as 11 years of practising massage. As a result, her massage skills and technigues are unique. From a firm presssure Sports Massage to a sophisticated Deep Tissue Massage. She can also provide a deep Relaxation Massage that can improve both the nervous and immune systems (Psychoneuroimmunology) of the human body.
Melissa is not an ordinary massage therapist, as she has knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine and she is also one of a few qualified and registered Oncology Massage therapists in Australia.
She worked as a volunteer massage therapist in the Blue Mountains Cancer Help in 2010 and completed training in the cancer department of the Veterans General Hospital, Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 2019 as part of her Traditional Chinese Medicine degree.
What truly makes Melissa extraordinary in her field is her ability to empathise and connect with you. She is warm, light, and down to earth. She is one of those people that you instinctively feel good to be around.
